SCREEN ON THE GREEN

Hornsby Shire Council and Hornsby RSL present Screen on the Green. Set over three nights, Hornsby will play host to a pop-up cinema on the green, featuring live performances, street food and bar; plus plenty of activities to keep you entertained pre-show.

The feel good movie of the year – EDDIE THE EAGLE is an absolute must see. Inspired by true events, Eddie the Eagle is a heart-warming story about an underdog that refused to give up. Starring Hugh Jackman & Taron Egerton, this is a comedy that the whole family will enjoy.

The event opens at 5pm for street table tennis, a retro sports photo booth, retro aerobics, an 80s feel good playlist, international food stalls including Vietnamese, German and Turkish, and Hornsby RSL’s pop up bar. Wear your best retro sports outfit for your chance to win a BEST DRESSED prize package.

Saturday 19 November: Disney’s Cars cars-web-marker

Disney's CarsFrom the acclaimed creators of Toy Story, The Incredibles and Finding Nemo comes CARS – a high-octane adventure comedy that shows life is about the journey, not the finish line.

The venue is open at 5pm for a classic car and fire truck exhibition, face painting, billy kart demonstration from Streetworks, a Disney playlist with your kids’ favourites and classic tunes that will inspire nostalgia for your own childhood, trackside food stalls, and Hornsby RSL’s pop up bar.

Sunday 20 November: Dirty Dancing   dirty-dancing-web-marker

Dancing to the beat of their hearts, heart-throb Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey star in this electrifying and sensual classic film. A vivid love story set in the summer of ‘63, DIRTY DANCING is set to pounding rhythms and vibrant dance – guaranteed to be the time of your life!

The venue is open from 5pm for street dancing inspired by the film, a Dirty Dancing playlist, Americana food stalls including The Nighthawk Diner, and Hornsby RSL’s pop up bar. Wear your best ‘60s digs for your chance to win a BEST DRESSED prize package.
